Here in rural Virginia, it is harvest time for cotton farmers. Bails of cotton dots the countryside. Cotton can be process into many products we use on a daily basis. Cotton serves in many industries from pharmaceuticals to rubber and plastic. After cotton is ginned, the fibers are used in x-rays, swabs and cotton buds in the medical field. Cotton is one of the most widely used and versatile materials around. Only a few uses are mentioned here.
